We have designed our waterproof Outers to be versatile and practical, making them one of the most flexible diaper covers available!

1: CLOTH DIAPER COVER

Use the Outer over an Esembly Inner to create the perfect, leak-proof cloth diapers. Additionally, our Outers can be used with other brands and styles of cloth diapers.

2: COVER UP THOSE DISPOSABLES

Disposables are known for causing leaks, but you can prevent this by using an Outer over your disposable diaper for extra peace of mind.

3: REUSABLE SWIM DIAPER

Planning to take your baby in the water? Our Outers make fantastic swim diapers when used on their own without any additional absorbency.

How do I use the Outer? Do I need an Inner underneath?

Attach the snap cotton Inner (sold separately) to your baby, ensuring that all the cotton is safely tucked inside. Then, cover with the Outer, adjusting the snap rows independently to achieve a perfect fit around the legs and waist. Outers can also be used on their own as reusable swim diapers.

Are they bulky? Will I need to size up baby's clothes?

Our Esembly cloth diaper Inners and Outers come in two trim fitting sizes, catering to your baby from birth to potty training. They are the slimmest natural fibers available and will fit comfortably under your baby's clothing without the need to size up.

How do I clean the Outers?

After washing 18,000 cloth diapers per week for a decade through our busy NYC diaper service, we have developed a simple 4-step wash routine and patented Washing Powder. Follow our instructions, and cloth diapering becomes as easy as doing 2-3 loads of laundry a week!

How many Outers do I need?

For full-time cloth diapering, we recommend having 24 Inners and 6 Outers. For part-time diapering, approximately 12 Inners and 4 Outers should be sufficient. As a general rule of thumb, aim to have 3 Inners for every Outer.

What are Outers made of? Are they breathable?

Our Outers are made from recycled plastic bottles! They are soft and stretchy on both the inside and outside, with no exposed PUL. Our proprietary fabric allows for heat and vapor transmission, ensuring that the diaper remains breathable and your baby stays comfortable.

Two rows of snaps allow for independent adjustments of the waist and legs, accommodating both big round bellies and tiny newborn thighs.

NO LEAKS OR BLOW-OUTS: Say goodbye to infamous diaper explosions! Esembly diapers consist of two leak-proof parts. The Esembly organic cotton Inner (sold separately) provides absorbency, while the Esembly Outer layer ensures waterproofing and containment. Together, they create a complete, blowout-proof cloth diaper!

DIAPER COVER AND SWIM DIAPER: Our Outers can be used as diaper covers, diaper wraps, diaper shells, plastic pants, or rubber pants over Esembly Inners (sold separately), as well as with prefolds, flats, contours, and fitted diapers. They can also be used on their own as swim diapers!

LANDFILL-FREE and MONEY-SAVING: Instead of going through endless packs of disposables (over 6500 diapers, to be precise), with Esembly you only need 20-24 Inners and 6 Outers (in each size) from birth to potty training. This not only reduces diaper waste but also saves you money!
